I am an administrator and teacher in Alberta, Canada. I’m passionate about exploring Web 2.0 tools and learning about how technology can be a tool to enhance and share learning. I enjoy connecting online with other educators around the world. My fascination with technology began in September 2012 when I accepted an online teaching position. I was way out of my comfort zone; that’s often when we grow and expand our skills and knowledge. My role was to develop and teach online ELL classses to High School students in China; I reside in Canada. It was a rewarding and remarkable experience. I became more and more interested in 2.0 web tools and how they could be infused into my teaching practice. I researched as much as I could about how students of the “digital generation” like to learn. I took online classes to learn from and collaborate with others who were more knowledgeable than I was in the area of technology. I became involved in an online professional bookclub and explored a fantastic book entitled The Connected Educator – Learning and Leading in a Digital Age.
My journey with technology continues. I created this blog to share my learning and my knowledge and to inspire other educators to join the journey and learn along-side me. The digital world is here to stay so jump in and start learning!
